Flint Group Packaging Solutions to Increase Price for Packaging Inks and Coatings in the USA and Canada

Flint Group Packaging Solutions

Nov. 4, 2026 - Flint Group Packaging Solutions will increase prices across its packaging inks and coatings portfolio in the USA and Canada, effective December 14, 2026. The adjustment reflects sustained cost pressures during the second half of 2026.

In a press release, the St Helier, Jersey-based company said, "Energy and ocean freight costs remain high, while pigment costs have increased significantly as Chinese safety initiatives drive capacity shortages for raw materials in Asia, particularly China. High crude oil prices are severely driving up the cost of essential petrochemical precursors, including solvents, resins, additives, and other related materials. Together, these pressures have increased the cost of manufacturing and supplying inks and coatings."

Flint Group Packaging Solutions explained that it continues to improve operational efficiency and work closely with suppliers to mitigate costs and maintain continuity of supply. However, sustained cost pressures make these increases necessary to maintain the quality, service and supply reliability our customers expect.

Nicki Kerrigan, Vice President Sales & Service in North America, said, "We recognize the impact that price adjustments have on our customers and have carefully considered this decision. We also understand the importance of clear communication on pricing. Our teams will provide details and key data points to support discussions with customers about the increase."

Flint Group Packaging Solutions serves the global Flexible Packaging, Paper & Board, Narrow Web and Sheetfed Offset industries. The company markets a wide range of ink and coating chemistries for Flexographic, Gravure, and Sheetfed Offset applications, including solvent-based, water-based, energy-curable, and vegetable oil-based technologies.
