Oct. 1, 2026 - Toscotec will supply an AHEAD 1.8 tissue production line to Lucart's Laval-sur-Vologne mill in France. The new machine, PM15, will have an operating speed of up to 1,800 m/min with a basis weight range of 15 to 22 g/m2.

From information provided on Toscotec's website, an AHEAD 1.8 tissue machine is capable of producing up to 100 tonnes per day of tissue, or around 36,000 tonnes per year.

PM15 will produce high-quality toilet and towel tissue paper and boost the Laval-sur-Vologne mill's total annual production capacity to 75,000 tonnes of premium tissue paper.

According to Toscotec, the new tissue machine is specifically engineered to maximize production efficiency while decreasing carbon emissions. The tissue machine's drying process combines TT NextPress technology and a TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer with high-efficiency TT e-Powered Hoods. The hoods can operate with conventional gas burners in 100% electric mode or in a hybrid configuration. The TT Swing feature allows additional flexibility with the utilization of the heat in the wet-end hood.

In combination with a new electric steam generator, PM15 can operate on 100% electricity, thereby minimizing its overall carbon footprint, Toscotec noted.

The project is delivered as a turn-key scope of supply that also includes electrification, a new TT Brain control system, and a comprehensive package of services, including full erection.

Headquartered in Lucca, Italy, Toscotec specializes in the design and manufacture of turnkey projects, complete machines, rebuilds, and stand-alone systems for the Tissue, Paper and Board, and Nonwovens industries.
