Sept. 29, 2026 - MIDLAND reported that Sylvamo on Friday, Sept. 25 told customers that it is implementing a $1.00/Cwt fuel surcharge effective with shipments October 1, 2026.
It was noted that the American Automobile Association, or "AAA", listed the current price for diesel fuel at about $6.51 per gallon. One month ago the price was at $5.61/gal., and a year ago it was $3.69/gal.
It is expected that other mills may follow given the run up of diesel costs.
