Domtar Completes Sale of EAM to Saothair Capital Partners

Engineered Absorbent Materials (EAM) in Jesup, Georgia. The Engineered Absorbent Materials (EAM) plant in Jesup, Georgia, has the capacity to produce 50,000 metric tonnes per year of airlaid nonwoven products.

June 3, 2026 - Domtar has completed the sale of its shares in EAM Corporation (Engineered Absorbent Materials "EAM") to Saothair Capital Partners, LLC, a private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in middle-market manufacturing and industrial companies.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Located in Jesup, Georgia, EAM designs and manufactures airlaid and laminated absorbent materials. The production facility has 3 airlaid machine lines and 2 laminate machines, with the capacity to produce 50,000 metric tonnes per year. Airlaid nonwoven products are used in a wide variety of consumer products, including feminine hygiene, adult incontinence, baby diapers, pet care products, specialty medical and food packaging applications.

Domtar will work closely with Saothair and the EAM management team to support a smooth transition. Saothair has indicated its intention to continue operating the site and maintaining relationships with employees, customers, suppliers and the local community.

Domtar was represented by Troutman Pepper Locke LLP for legal counsel and BMO Capital Markets as financial advisor on the transaction. McGuireWoods LLP provided legal counsel to Saothair.
