March 20, 2026 - Atlanta Gear Works (AGW) announced that Jeff Spitz, an applications engineer, has joined the company's engineering team. With the addition of Spitz, AGW's engineering team grows to five, led by Vice President of Engineering Chris Dale.

Spitz brings over 20 years of experience with gear manufacturing and gearbox repair, working with cross-functional teams similar to those at AGW.

Dale noted that Spitz' work background makes for a nearly seamless transition to Atlanta Gear Works.

"Jeff has the experience and ability to step right into what we do with little training required," Dale said.

Since 1988, Atlanta Gear Works has grown from a gearbox repair specialist into a trusted partner for the pulp and paper industry nationwide. The company offers 24/7 gearbox inspections, comprehensive in-place rebuilds, on-site machining, and full in-house manufacturing at its state-of-the-art facility in Dawsonville, Georgia — equipped with advanced CNC machines, gear hobbing, and precision grinding equipment.
