Sappi Europe to Increase Pricing for Its Speciality Paper Grades

Sappi Alfeld Mill "This increase is necessary to maintain the viability of Sappi's business and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our operations." – Sappi Europe.

Feb. 19, 2026 - Sappi Europe today announced that it will increase prices for its Speciality paper products by EUR 50-70 per ton, depending on the grade, effective on deliveries as of April 1, 2026.

In a press release, Sappi said, "Despite significant internal efficiency programs and cost-saving initiatives, and major restructuring efforts, the combination of persistent cost inflation and continued price erosion has pushed current price levels to an unsustainable point for Sappi.

"This increase is necessary to maintain the viability of Sappi's business and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our operations.

"As a strategic supplier to converters, printers, merchants, and brand owners, Sappi Europe remains committed to ensuring consistent product availability and exceptional service. The announced increase will support continued investment in production assets, product development, and supply reliability across the Speciality portfolio," the company concluded.

Sappi noted that its sales team will contact customers individually to discuss implementation details.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, Sappi Europe is leading the way in the production of woodfibre-based products and biobased solutions including packaging, graphic, label and speciality papers with 8 mill operations and 12 sales offices across Europe.
