Valmet to Supply Sofidel America with an Advantage ThruAir Tissue Production Line

Oct. 29, 2025 - Valmet will supply Sofidel America with a new state-of-the-art tissue production line in the United States.

The new Advantage ThruAir tissue machine will have a width of 5.6 meters and an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons. The production line is optimized to save fibers and deliver excellent paper properties.

The location for the machine, intended to be within one of Sofidel's existing U.S. facilities, has not yet been finalized. Sofidel is currently engaging with various public authorities to finalize the project.

The new production line will enable Sofidel America to significantly expand its production capacity of ultra-premium products for North American consumers to meet the growing demand of ultra-premium tissue products in the region.

Valmet's full scope of supply includes a complete tissue production line, an automation package and flow control and Industrial Internet solutions.

Sofidel and Valmet in September started up an Advantage DCT line at Sofidel's Circleville, Ohio mill.

Start-up of the new tissue line is scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.
