Sept. 9, 2025 - GPA, part of the Fedrigoni Group, has signed a licensing agreement with HP for the sole distribution of the new generation of HP ColorPRO paper.

Developed by HP, the new HP ColorPRO papers are engineered specifically for HP PageWide Web Presses, unlocking maximum productivity, offset-like quality, and streamlined supply chain efficiency for high-volume inkjet printing.

Under the agreement, GPA will serve as the sole brand and technology licensee of HP ColorPRO technology in the U.S. and Canada. The license grants GPA rights to develop, commercialize, and distribute HP ColorPRO papers.

GPA noted that the collaboration is set to expand globally in the near future.

"This is more than a paper launch — it's a performance breakthrough," said Barry Nelson, GPA President. "HP ColorPRO papers are the first substrates engineered to allow HP PageWide Web Presses to run at full rated speed, without compromise. By partnering with HP, we can scale this innovation to more applications and help our customers grow profitably."

The HP ColorPRO portfolio will include both coated and uncoated options:

  • Aurora Gloss (80# Text, 100# Cover)
  • Mojave Matte (45#, 50#, 60# Text)
  • Prairie Production, Alpine Opaque, and Canyon Silk uncoated grades (launching in 2026)

Production will be supported by a network of trusted manufacturing partners, including mills within the Fedrigoni Group as well as select partners committed to the same high standards of quality and consistency. This multi-mill approach provides scalability, redundancy, and security of supply — ensuring printers can count on reliable availability.

GPA said that it will manage all logistics through a direct mill-to-printer program, streamlining access for commercial printers, book manufacturers, and direct mail providers.

Founded in 1888 in Verona, Italy, Fedrigoni is a manufacturer of labels and self-adhesive materials, specialty papers for packaging and creative communication, and RFID solutions.
