May 14, 2025 - Valmet has received an order from Papirnica Vevce in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to supply a Valmet IQ Web Inspection System (WIS) to inspect paper web quality.
According to Valmet, this is the first order for the Valmet IQ WIS with new high-performance Valmet area cameras.
"Thanks to close collaboration, we have made a significant step forward in improving paper quality. The new Valmet IQ WIS will create a solid foundation to Papirnica Vevce's continuous improvement and innovation," said Sarp Türkmen, Sales Manager, Automation Systems business line, Valmet.
The Valmet IQ WIS has new high-performance Valmet area cameras that enable high-resolution imaging even at fast web speeds. Low-angle reflection inspection geometry enhances the visibility of 3D surface defects like scratches and wrinkles, and glossy defects like roll marks.
Transmission inspection geometry with new Valmet area cameras enables high CD and MD resolutions at the machine's fast operating speed, allowing the detection of unseen defects and detailed defect pictures from holes, dirt spots, contaminations, and cracks.
Valmet IQ Winder control system with defect handling and automatic braking system to optimize winding and coating processes is included in the delivery.
The delivery is scheduled for August 2025, with the start-up of the new system expected in September.
Valmet has a global customer base across various process industries and is a leading global developer and supplier of process technologies, automation, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy industries.
