Gould Paper Acquires Stake in French Paper Distributor EFP-Chavassieu

Jan. 9, 2024 - Japan Pulp & Paper announced that its subsidiary, Gould Paper Corporation (OVOL USA), has acquired shares in EFP-Chavassieu — a paper, paperboard and non-woven fabric distributor based in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France — through its OVOL Holdings France.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to Japan Pulp & Paper, EFP handles printing, communication, packaging and industrial paper mainly in the French market.

"With this acquisition of shares, the OVOL Japan Pulp & Paper Group will organically leverage EFP's strong relationships with European suppliers and the OVOL Japan Pulp & Paper Group network, including Gould Paper France (Head Office: Paris, France) and Japan Pulp & Paper GmbH (Head Office: Düsseldorf, Germany), to expand and diversify its business in the European market," Japan Pulp & Paper said in a press release.

OVOL USA is among North America's largest distributors of printing, publishing and business papers. OVOL USA, together with its parent company, Japan Pulp and Paper, has offices in virtually every major city the world over.

With headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, Japan Pulp and Paper Company Limited sells and distributes pulp, paper, containerboard, paperboard, and a wide range of paper-related products.
