Total U.S. Boxboard Production Decreased Five Percent in Q1 2023

April 28, 2023 - The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its Q1 2023 Boxboard report. According to the report, total boxboard production in Q1 decreased 5% compared to Q1 2022. The boxboard operating rate was 87.8%, down 6.1 points from Q1 2022.

  • Solid Bl. Folding - Domestic production decreased 8% compared to Q1 2022.
  • Recycled Boxboard - Coated production increased 3% compared to Q1 2022.
