Kruger Packaging Starts Production at New Corrugated Packaging Plant in Elizabethtown

Nov. 3, 2022 - Kruger Packaging announced that construction on the $114 million Kruger Packaging Elizabethtown Plant in Kentucky is now complete. Measuring 400,000+ square feet, the state-of-the-art facility is now open and production of corrugated paper — that will soon be turned into boxes — is underway.

The new plant features a highly automated corrugator, 4 ultramodern converting lines and is designed for an annual production of 2.4 billion sq. ft. — the equivalent of over 200 football fields per day of 100% recycled corrugated boxes.

Construction of the new plant began in the summer of 2021.

"In less than one year, what once was an undeveloped plot of land is now home to the most advanced, cutting-edge manufacturing facility in North America. All total, the Kruger Packaging Elizabethtown Plant took more than 280 construction days to complete and is composed of 26,000 cubic yards of concrete. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in the coming months to celebrate the momentous milestone.
