Sweden's Fiskeby Board to Acquire Baden Board in Germany

Baden Board Baden Board is a well-established producer of 100% recycled cartonboard and packaging products in Germany.

Aug. 25, 2021 - Fiskeby Board has agreed to acquire Baden Board GmbH, based in Gernsbach, Germany.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Baden Board is a well-established producer of 100% recycled cartonboard and packaging products. The company's production unit, Baden Karton, has the capacity to produce about 150,000 tonnes per year and its primary product is white-covered and coated duplex and triplex board in the basis weight range from 300 to 600 g/m2.

Baden's packaging unit, Baden Packaging, offers state-of-the-art offset printing, die-cutting and gluing machines, producing sustainable and demand-oriented packaging. Packaging solutions range from folding boxes, crates and sleeves for dairy products, to beverage carriers, shelf-ready packaging and high-quality finished gift packaging with, for example, window back gluing or special embossing.

Fiskeby noted that the acquisition of the Baden mill will nearly double its production capacity and extend the product portfolio.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt).

Fiskeby Board AB is an independent company with all manufacturing based in Fiskeby, Norrköping, Sweden. The company produces "Multiboard" made of 100% recovered fibre. Sales offices are located in Sweden and several countries around Europe. Fiskeby is owned by Fiskeby Holding LLC, USA, under the leadership of the Coors family.
