ND Paper Starts-up New Recycled Pulping Operation in Old Town, Maine

The new recycled pulp production line at ND Paper's Old Town mill in Maine will produce approximately 200 metric tons per day of unbleached recycled pulp.

April 26, 2021 - ND Paper announced the launch of a new recycled pulping operation at its Old Town Division in Maine (USA). The new production line will produce approximately 200 metric tons per day of unbleached recycled pulp.

According to ND Paper, the new recycled pulp line uses patent-pending, proprietary technology and consumes regionally-sourced recovered paper, primarily old corrugated containers, as its primary feedstock. In addition, the new line is designed to use considerably less water than a traditional recycled pulping process.

ND Paper purchased the shuttered mill in October 2018 and has since invested millions of dollars into its restart and optimization.

At full operation, the recycled pulping operation will support approximately 20 new jobs.
