SCA's PM 5 at Ortviken Mill in Sweden Produced Final Roll of Paper on January 20

Ortviken mill PM5 PM5 (pictured above) will be dismantled in order to make room for the company Renewcell and its recycling of textile fibre at SCA's Ortviken paper mill in Sundsvall, Sweden.

Jan. 21, 2021 - SCA announced that paper machine 5 at its Ortviken paper mill in Sundsvall, Sweden, produced its last roll of paper on January 20.

PM5 produced uncoated publication paper for newpapers, magazines and commercial print and had a capacity of 255,000 tonnes per year. The paper machine started production in 1985.

SCA said PM5 will now be dismantled in order to make room for the company Renewcell and its recycling of textile fibre, which is expected to come on stream on the Ortviken site in 2022.

As previously announced, the remaining two paper machines at the Ortviken paper mill will stop production during the first quarter of 2021, as SCA ceases to produce publication paper.

Based in Sweden, SCA produces solid-wood products, pulp, kraftliner, publication papers and renewable energy. To learn more, please visit: www.sca.com.
