Metsä Group Appoints Ari-Pekka Vanamo as VP, Mill Manager of Äänekoski Bioproduct Mill in Finland

Jan. 18, 2021 - Metsä Group announced that Ari-Pekka Vanamo, M.Sc. (Eng.), has been appointed VP, Mill Manager of the Äänekoski bioproduct mill as of 1 April 2021. He will replace Ilkka Poikolainen, who will start in a new position as VP, Production Technology, Metsä Fibre.

Vanamo has many years of experience in the forest products industry and currently holds the position of Mill Manager of Metsä Group's Rauma pulp mill. Prior to that he was Mill Manager of Metsä Group's Kemi mill.

In a related move, Janne Rantanen, M.Sc. (Eng.), has been appointed VP, Mill Manager of the Rauma mill, effective 1 April 2021. Currently, Rantanen is Technical Manager in the Äänekoski mill.
