Sappi Europe to Increase Prices for Its Entire Range of Fine Paper Grades for Overseas Markets

Sappi Gratkorn

Jan. 13, 2021 - Sappi Europe today announced a further price increase for its entire range of Fine Paper grades by US $50 per ton for all Overseas markets.

The price increase is effective as of February production and March shipments.

In a written statement, Sappi said, "The decrease in consumption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic continues to place strong pressure on prices. In combination with cost increases in paper production and transport this has continued to lead to unsustainable profitability levels, especially felt in our overseas markets."

Sappi Europe is a division of Sappi Limited (JSE), headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with 12,500 employees and 19 production facilities on three continents in nine countries, 37 sales offices globally, and customers in over 150 countries around the world.
