Total European Shipments of Graphic Papers Increased 1.1% in July 2017
In Europe, total shipments of graphic papers in July 2017 were 2,623,000 tonnes, an increase of 29,000 tonnes, (1.1%) compared to July of 2016.
Sept. 25, 2017 - EURO-GRAPH, the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers, published its July 2017 statistics of the European Graphic Papers Industry, which showed total shipments of graphic papers in July were 2,623,000 tonnes, a decrease of 86,000 tonnes versus the prior month, but an increase of 29,000 tonnes, (1.1%) compared to July of 2016.
Graphic Paper grades include: Newsprint, SC-Magazine, Coated Mechanical Reels, Uncoated Mechanical Reels, Coated Woodfree and Uncoated Woodfree.
In July, total European shipments of Newsprint were 606,000 tonnes compared to 627,000 tonnes in July of 2016, a decrease of 3.3%.
Total shipments of SC-Magazine paper in July were 291,000 tonnes compared to 289,000 tonnes in July of 2016, an uptick of 0.9%.
Total Shipments of Coated Mechanical Reels in July were 487,000 tonnes, up 5.5% versus a July 2016 figure of 464,000 tonnes.
Shipments of Uncoated Mechanical papers in July were 183,000 tonnes, up 5.8%, compared to 173,000 tonnes in July of 2016.
Total shipments of Coated Woodfree papers in July were 480,000 tonnes, up 1.9% compared to 471,000 tonnes in July 2016.
Total shipment of Uncoated Woodfree papers in July were 576,000 tonnes, up 0.9% versus 571,000 tonnes in July 2016.
