AF&PA Releases Its August 2017 U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Report
Total Packaging Papers shipments were 235,900 tons in August 2017, 1.7 percent lower than August 2016.
Sept. 19, 2017 - The American Forest & Paper Association has released its August 2017 U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report. According to the report, total Packaging Papers shipments were 235,900 tons, 1.7 percent lower than August 2016.
Bag & Sack shipments were up 5.5 percent year-to-date, while Food Wrapping shipments were down 8.5 percent over the same period.
The operating rate for August 2017 was 90.3 percent, while the year-to-date rate was 88.8 percent.
Inventories were 168,600 tons, down slightly since July.
