Södra Names Håkan Larsson as Director of Strategy for the Södra Group
August 30, 2017 – Södra announced that Håkan Larsson, Director of Forestry and President of Södra Skog, will assume responsibility for strategic issues within the Södra Group, effective September 1. He will remain a member of Södra's Group Senior Management and continue to report to the President, Lars Idermark.
“After more than four very rewarding and stimulating years as President of Södra Skog and over 20 years of engagement in this business area, I feel that I'm ready for a change. I am very happy, therefore, for this opportunity to work with Södra's more long-term issues,” said Larsson.
Lars Idermark commented, “Rapid and major changes are taking place in our business environment. Increased globalisation and digitisation is changing companies' business models. The role of forests as an active player in a more forest-based bioeconomy is subject to growing demand. Håkan Larsson is a driven and experienced person and will now be working with these strategic issues for the entire Group, which will generate major business value for Södra.”
A process to recruit a successor to the Director of Forestry position will begin immediately, Södra said. The Interim President of the Södra Skog business area will be Södra's Wood Supply Manager, Olof Hansson.
