May 23, 2017 - BillerudKorsnäs announced that the digester in the semi-chemical pulp production line at the company's Gruvön Mill is back up and running, and the pulp line and fluting machine PM6 is back in production.

On May 16, BillerudKorsnäs announced that the digester experienced a major breakdown.

According to BillerudKorsnäs, the impact on EBITDA for the breakdown is estimated to approximately SEK 25 million after compensation from insurance.

“The impact of the breakdown could be limited thanks to a very efficient work in the mill, and we could start up production relatively quickly," said Per Lindberg, CEO of BillerudKorsnäs. "Now we have to limit the indirect damage in the form of missing deliveries and customer relations."

The Gruvön Mill produces kraft paper, sack paper, corrugated products (fluting, liner), liquid board, cup stock and market pulp. The mill employs about 850 people and has an annual production capacity of 710,000 tonnes.

BillerudKorsnäs is a leading manufacturer of packaging papers, including: kraft and sack paper, liquid packaging board and cartonboard, containerboard (fluting and liner), and market pulp. The company has 8 production sites in Sweden, Finland and the UK. To learn more, please visit: www.billerudkorsnas.com.
