Burgo Ardennes Paper Mill Completes Oil to Natural Gas Conversion Project

Dec. 15, 2016 - Burgo Group announced on Dec. 1 that its pulp and paper mill, Burgo Ardennes, in Virton, Belgium has completed a large energy conversion project, replacing fuel oil with natural gas to power the mill's boilers.

Burgo noted that EUR 9 million project substantially reduces the emission of CO2, greatly improving the mill's environmental footprint.

Burgo Ardennes is the largest mill of the Group and the most integrated. It produces approximately 400,000 tons of pulp, 380,000 tons of coated paper and 370,000 MW (megawatts) of green energy. About 90% of that energy is generated from the residues of pulp production.
