North American Paper Producers Announce Price Hikes for Office Papers, Newsprint
International Paper is just one of the paper producers announcing a May 2016 price hike for office papers.
April 6, 2016 - Paper and packaging distributor Midland Paper, Packaging + Supplies reported a flurry of price increases announced by North American paper producers primarily for office papers.
International Paper will increase prices by $3/cwt on the following imaging products: all Private Label brands, all Hammermill® brands, and all HP® brands, effective with shipments May 6, 2016. This increase applies to both virgin and recycled products. All standard upcharges will continue to apply.
Boise Paper will raise prices by $3/cwt on private label and Boise® branded office papers, including products in the following brand families: Boise® X-9®, Boise® ASPEN®, Boise POLARIS®, Boise® FIREWORX®. Price increases will be effective with shipments beginning May 2, 2016. All minimums, up-charges and shipping policies remain unchanged.
Flambeau River Papers will raise prices by $3.00/cwt for all FRP branded and Private label cut size business and office papers, effective with shipments on or after May 1, 2016.
Domtar will increase the price for all Domtar-branded and Private Label Business Papers products by $3.00/cwt., effective with shipments May 1, 2016. All current standard differentials and upcharges remain in effect.
In newsprint, Resolute Forest Products announced that it is increasing the price of 48.8gsm newsprint from the company's Ponderay Newsprint Mill by $20/mt., effective with May 1, 2016 shipments. Other basis weights will be adjusted accordingly.
