Lucart Group Restarts PM4 Tissue Line after Rebuild

Feb. 12, 2016 - Italian tissue producer Lucart has restarted PM4 tissue machine in Porcari (Lucca) after a rebuild by Toscotec. The upgrade included a modification of the machine's forming section and the complete replacement of the old hood with a new Mono Yankee Hood fed by natural gas and new air system and heat recovery system.

The wire section of the machine was also upgraded with the replacement of the forming roll and the main whitewater saveall, as well as the relocation of the headbox and breast roll.

PM4 is a twin wire former with double press configuration for 2.7 meter sheet width, dedicated for white and colored tissue paper jumbo reels.

The focus of the project was to increase production capacity up to 90 tons per day with a 20% boost in machine operating speed while improving formation quality and reducing the energy consumption.
