Suzano Hires Andritz to Convert Paper Machine to Fluff Pulp Production at São Paulo Mill

April 29, 2015 - Andritz said that it has received an order from Suzano Papel e Celulose to upgrade a paper machine at the company's Suzano unit in São Paulo, Brazil for the production of fluff pulp.

The value of the project was not disclosed.

When complete, the rebuild will enable the mill to produce both eucalyptus fluff pulp and coated/uncoated wood-free paper, Andritz said.

The upgraded machine will have the capacity to produce about 100,000 tons of "Euca Fluff" (fluff pulp) per year.

Start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015.

According to Andritz, Suzano will be the first fluff pulp producer in Brazil and the first producer worldwide to supply fluff pulp based on short-fiber eucalyptus (hardwood).

Suzano is an integrated pulp and paper producer. Its main products include eucalyptus pulp, printing and writing paper, as well as paperboard.

Andritz Pulp & Paper is a global supplier of equipment, systems and services for the production and processing of all types of pulps, paper, tissue, and board. For additional information visit:
