Paper2015 Highlights Leadership, Opportunities

March 17, 2015 - Paper2015 is off to a great start after an active day of meetings and sessions. The annual event is taking place in Chicago and is co-hosted by the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and the National Paper Trade Association (NPTA).

At yesterday's Industry Leadership Session, sponsored by Sappi North America, a distinguished panel of CEOs representing key segments of the paper industry provided their unique perspectives on opportunities, innovation, globalization, sustainability, and leadership. On the panel were Mark Gardner, president and CEO of Sappi North America; John Luke, chairman and CEO of MWV; Travis Mlakar, president of Millcraft; Debabrata Mukherjee, president and CEO of Finch Paper; and Mark Sutton, chairman and CEO of International Paper.

The CEO panel was followed by the Paper2015 Reception, sponsored by Domtar, where event participants networked with their colleagues.

Today starts with the Special Session: Paper Industry Initiatives – Building New Roadways to Success, where representatives from key U.S. paper industry organizations will share latest developments, future plans, and how their programs are informing the marketplace and helping companies in their business.

At the annual RISI Global Paper Market Trends Session, experts will provide the market outlook for paperboard, recovered fiber and printing-writing paper.

Participants are eager to hear actionable insights on leadership from Paper2015 Luncheon keynote speaker Robert O’Neill, who served as an operator and team leader with Navy SEAL Team Six. During the luncheon, NPTA will present Morris Dennis of Dennis Paper with the Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award.

Paper2015 provides paper industry leaders with timely sessions on emerging issues and networking opportunities to enhance business partnerships.
