Nippon Paper Industries to Hike Pricing for Its Printing, Communications and Converting Papers
Nippon Paper Industries will increase pricing for its printing paper, communication paper, and converting paper by a minimum 10%.
Jan. 6, 2015 - Nippon Paper Industries recently announced that it will increase pricing for its printing paper, communication paper, and converting paper by a minimum 10%.
The price hike, which applies to Nippon Paper's domestic market, becomes effective with shipments as of February 1, 2015.
In a press release, Nippon Paper said, “While the rapid depreciation of Japanese yen trend continues, the prices of raw materials and fuels are in an upward trend. Although the Company has made sustained efforts to reduce costs, it has proven difficult to absorb all the cost increases through the Company's own efforts, and it was decided that there was no alternative but to pass the cost on to the product prices.”
