Millcraft to Acquire the Midwest Business Assets of Ariva from Lindenmeyr Munroe

July 23, 2013 - The Millcraft Paper Company [yesterday] announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the United States Midwest-based business assets of Ariva Distribution, Inc. from Lindenmeyr Munroe, a division of Central National-Gottesman Inc. (CNG).

In a separate but coordinated business transaction, privately-held CNG entered into its own agreement with Domtar Corporation, Ariva’s parent company, pursuant to which Lindenmeyr, based in Purchase, New York, will first acquire Ariva’s entire U.S. operations.

Millcraft’s acquisition includes Covington, Kentucky-based Ariva’s six Midwest locations in Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.

"We couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to integrate the Ariva operations into our Millcraft business model" said Travis Mlakar, Millcraft's President. "The acquisition offers us new product lines, including expanded digital capabilities, Ariva's expertise in packaging, and so much more. However, perhaps the most exciting aspect is the prospect of consolidating two incredible teams of people into a great organization which will continue to be focused on the customer going forward."

The transaction is expected to close at the end of July 2013, subject to customary closing conditions.

Millcraft has a long history of strategic acquisitions throughout its 93 years of business. The Ariva purchase supports the company’s continuing commitment to locally serve the Midwest fine printing paper market while diversifying its product and service platforms to meet the industry’s changing needs.

Founded in 1920 and always headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, The Millcraft Paper Company is an independent, fourth generation, family-owned distributor of printing and office papers and packaging. The company has a total of 16 sales, distribution and retail divisions in 14 Midwest cities.
