Mitsubishi Paper Mills Settles Patent Dispute with Diatec
Feb. 25, 2009 - Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Paper Mills Limited (MPM) said that it has signed a settlement agreement with Diatec Holding resolving a patent dispute between the parties.
The dispute involved legal action initiated by MPM in Germany against Diatec’s subsidiaries, Sihl GmbH, Sihl Direct GmbH and Sihl AG.
MPM charged that Diatec's subsidiaries infringed upon MPM’s inkjet media patent rights.
The settlement calls for payment of a fee to MPM.
The amount of the payment and other terms and conditions of the agreement were not disclosed.
MPM said that it owns a wide range of intellectual property rights in the inkjet media segment and will continue to defend those rights.
