Domtar Donates $750,000 to EMA Foundation

April 29, 2008 - Domtar Corp. has made a $750,000 contribution to the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) Foundation for Paper-Based Communications.

According to EMA, this brings Domtar's total contribution to the organization to $1 million.

Half of the contribution is earmarked to the newly established Environmental Initiative Fund. Gifts to this dedicated fund will help to educate consumers and mailers about environmental initiatives within the envelope industry, to conduct research to solidify the industry's perspective on environmental issues, and to promote the industry's efforts for a clean environment, EMA said.

"We are pleased to support the EMA Foundation, whose core values are consistent with those of Domtar," said Raymond Royer, president and CEO of Domtar. "With this contribution, we acknowledge and support the fine work the EMA Foundation has done, proactively addressing issues that impact our industry."

Paul Hinspeter, chairman of the Foundation noted, "We are very excited about this additional contribution. It gives us more flexibility with our general fund but the contribution to the Environmental Initiative Fund will allow us to conduct research and other programs to show our own customers and everyone else how and what the envelope industry is doing to promote a healthy and clean environment."

Contributions to the Environmental Initiative Fund or to other EMA Foundation-sponsored programs and projects are tax deductible, as provided by law. For more information about the EMA Foundation, please visit: www.emafoundation.org
