CONTAINERBOARD In one of the fastest turnarounds in history, containerboard markets did a U-turn in fourth quarter 2008 as demand collapsed in the face of an economic perfect storm of events. Massive mill downtime has helped control the bleeding, but any major improvement seems unlikely before the second half of 2009 – at the earliest – so the next six months will be a big challenge.
