Total U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Shipments Increased Two Percent in February 2020
March 17, 2020 - The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its February 2020 U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report. According to the report, total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in February increased two percent compared to February 2019. They were down one percent when compared to the same two months of 2019. The operating rate was 86.9 percent, down 1.0 points from February 2019 and down 2.0 points year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of February remained essentially flat (+77 short tons) from the previous month and were down 6,000 short tons compared to February 2019.
