Total U.S. Boxboard Monthly Production Decreased One Percent in February 2020

March 17, 2020 - The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its February 2020 Boxboard Monthly report. According to the report, total boxboard production in February decreased one percent compared to February 2019. It was down one percent when compared to the same two months of 2019.

The boxboard operating rate was 93.7 percent, essentially flat (+0.2 pts.) from February 2019 and up 1.3 points year-to-date.

  • Solid Bleached Boxboard production in February decreased two percent compared to February 2019. It was down four percent when compared to the same two months of 2019.
  • Recycled Boxboard production in February increased two percent compared to February 2019. It was essentially flat (0.0 percent) when compared to the same two months of 2019.
  • Unbleached Kraft & Gypsum production in February decreased one percent compared to February 2019. It was up one percent when compared to the same two months of 2019.
