Huhtamaki Encourages Shifting the Vending Cup Business into Paper

Huhtamaki's new cups are made with paper from 100% PEFC certified sustainably managed forests, are recyclable, and have been designed with vending machine operators in mind.

Feb. 26, 2020 - Many consumer packaging solutions are shifting to paper because it is highly functional and comes from renewable resources. In turn, Huhtamaki is introducing its Compacto vending cups, which are a new range of paper cups designed and optimized for vending machines.

According to Huhtamaki, the new cups are made with paper from 100% PEFC certified sustainably managed forests, are recyclable, and have been designed with vending machine operators in mind.

Huhtamaki noted that the Compacto vending cups are recyclable in facilities where the fiber from the paperboard can be separated easily and then reused as a source of fiber for the manufacturing of other paper products.
