Buckeye Corrugated's Houston Division Completes New Building

Dec 16, 2019 - Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) today launched its new 260,000 sq./ft. sheet plant in Houston, Texas. Located in The Pinto Industrial Park near Highway 45 and Beltway 8, the new facility is about 20 miles north of downtown Houston and serves as the base of operations for BCI's 98 associates.

During the months of November and December BCI's Houston Division transitioned the existing equipment to the new facility, which features several new pieces of equipment to bolster its converting capabilities: a Bobst 8 color DRO with JB Dryers; a Ward 3-color Flexo Folder Gluer with die-cut section and Alliance Pre-Feeder; a new Ward 3-color Rotary Die Cutter with an Alliance Pre-Feeder.

A new scrap system, powered conveyor with transfer car, two Martin Stackers with the SQC feature, dual unitizers with turntables, two inline Stretch Wrappers and a new Ink Kitchen, has also been added to enhance machine capabilities.

All these additions will contribute to improve work-flow efficiency and increased capacity, BCI said.
