Total U.S. Boxboard Monthly Production Increased 3.0 Percent in October 2019

Nov. 18, 2019 - The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the October 2019 Boxboard Monthly report. According to the report, total U.S. boxboard production in October increased three percent compared to October 2018. It was essentially flat (-0.5%) when compared to the same 10 months of 2018.

The boxboard operating rate in October was 91.7 percent, down 1.7 points from October 2018 and down 1.4 points year-to-date.

  • Solid Bleached Boxboard production in October increased seven percent compared to October 2018. It was essentially flat (-0.4%) when compared to the same 10 months of 2018.
  • Recycled Boxboard production in October decreased one percent compared to October 2018. It was down one percent when compared to the same 10 months of 2018.
  • Unbleached Kraft & Gypsum production in October increased three percent compared to October 2018. It was essentially flat (-0.1%) when compared to the same 10 months of 2018.
