Visy Officially Opens $100 Million Corrugated Packaging Plant in Victoria, Australia

April 29, 2019 - Visy on April 9 held a ceremony for the official opening of its new corrugated packaging facility in Truganina, Victoria, Australia. The Honorable Daniel Andrews, MP Premier of Victoria, Visy Executive Chairman Anthony Pratt and the Pratt family took part in the ceremony.

Guests who attended the opening, including Visy management, customers and government delegates, were also given a guided tour of the new facility.

The new $100 million facility was established as part of Visy's commitment to innovate and increase corrugating and converting capacity in Victoria.

Construction began in March of 2018 and the 36,500 square-meter plant was fully commissioned by October.

The new corrugated packaging plant showcases state-of-the-art technology and employs 85 people across all shifts, including office personnel.

In his opening speech, Anthony Pratt said, “Manufacturing is important so we're proud that this plant is adding a new generation of skills and workers to Australian manufacturing.”

The plant manufactures RSC (Regular Slotted Cartons) and die-cut cartons and is capable of making over 1 million cartons per day, and serves all markets including beverage, packaged food, dairy, industrial, meat and fruit & produce with high quality, performance and cost effective packaging solutions.
