Total European Shipments of Graphic Papers Down 0.3 Percent in April 2018
Total shipments of graphic papers in Europe in April 2018 were 2,530,000 tonnes, a decrease of 8,000 tonnes, (0.3%) compared to April of 2017.
June 27, 2018 - EURO-GRAPH, the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers, published its April 2018 statistics of the European Graphic Papers Industry, which showed total shipments of graphic papers in April were 2,530,000 tonnes, down 212,000 tonnes versus the prior month, and a decrease of 8,000 tonnes, (0.3%) compared to April of 2017.
Graphic Paper grades include: Newsprint, SC-Magazine, Coated Mechanical Reels, Uncoated Mechanical Reels, Coated Woodfree and Uncoated Woodfree.
In April, total European shipments of Newsprint were 556,000 tonnes compared to 598,000 tonnes in April of 2017, a decrease of 7.0%.
Total shipments of SC-Magazine paper in April were 290,000 tonnes compared to 294,000 tonnes in April of 2017, down slightly by 1.2%.
Total Shipments of Coated Mechanical Reels in April were 481,000 tonnes, up 6.8% versus a April 2017 figure of 451,000 tonnes.
Shipments of Uncoated Mechanical papers in April were 201,000 tonnes, up 7.3%, compared to 187,000 tonnes in April of 2017.
Total shipments of Coated Woodfree papers in April were 459,000 tonnes, down 2.9% compared to 472,000 tonnes in April 2017.
Total shipment of Uncoated Woodfree papers in April were 543,000 tonnes, up 1.3% versus 536,000 tonnes in April 2017.
