Voith to Supply Kipas Kagit with New Board Machine at its Mill in Söke, Turkey
The new machine, to be designated PM 1, will produce about 700,000 metric tons per year of high-quality board and packaging papers.
October 6, 2017 – Voith said that it will supply Turkish paper manufacturer Kipas Kagit with an XcelLine paper machine at the company's mill at Söke in Western Turkey.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new machine — to be designated PM 1 — will produce about 700,000 metric tons per year of high-quality board and packaging papers with basis weights of 90 to 400 grams per square meter.
According to Voith, Kipas Kagit is planning to run the machine at a production speed of 1,200 meters per minute.
The wire section of the machine has a flexible design allowing the production of two-ply and three-ply paper, Voith said.
Voith noted that its XcelLine paper machines are particularly energy efficient as a result of using less power, water and steam during the paper production process.
Voith will also supply the complete initial machine clothing for the new PM 1, followed by three further clothing sets.
In addition, Voith will supply a comprehensive automation package consisting of OnControl process control system, OnQ quality control, OnView information system and OnCare CM condition monitoring.
A start-up date for the new machine was not provided.
