U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments Decreased in April 2016
Total U.S. Kraft paper shipments in April 2016 were 137.8 thousand short tons, 3.7 percent lower compared to April 2015.
May 17, 2016 - May 17, 2016 - The American Forest & Paper Association released its April 2016 Kraft Paper Report, which features audited 2015 and Q1 2016 data based on results from the 56th AF&PA Capacity Survey. According to the Kraft Paper Report, total Kraft paper shipments were 137.8 thousand short tons, 3.7 percent lower compared to April 2015.
Bleached Kraft paper shipments increased from 7.8 thousand short tons in March to 8.5 while unbleached Kraft paper decreased from 140.2 to 129.3 thousand short tons.
Overall, shipments in the first four months of 2016 were 1.1 percent lower compared to the same period in 2015. Total month-end inventories decreased from 82.3 to 76.2 thousand short tons.
