Aug. 19, 2014 - Valmet said that it has been contracted by Pratt Paper (IN), LLC for the supply of a paper machine for Pratt's new greenfield paper mill in Valparaiso, Indiana (USA).

The value of the order was not disclosed.

Valmet's scope of delivery will comprise a complete OptiConcept M board production line from headbox to winder. The new machine will have a wire width of 6.25 meters and a design speed of 1,200 m/min.

"OptiConcept M is a new and modular way to design, build and operate a paper machine," said Mike Gray, SVP Sales, Valmet North America. "Its modular approach enables short delivery times, quick start-up and low project costs."

"This will be Valmet's first OptiConcept M installation in North America and we are all proud to work with Pratt on this project," Gray added.

The mill will use recovered paper as a raw material to produce recycled linerboard and corrugated medium.

Start-up of the new machine, PM16, is scheduled for 2015.
