European Shipments of Graphic Papers in May 2014 Down 4.6%

Aug. 6, 2014 - EURO-GRAPH, the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers, published its May 2014 statistics of the European Graphic Papers Industry, which showed total shipments of graphic papers in May were 2,947,000 tonnes, down 4.6% (142,000 tonnes) versus May 2013, and down 1.9% (59,000 tonnes) compared to April 2014.

In May, total European shipments of Newsprint fell 10.9% (88,000 tonnes) compared to May of 2013, and decreased 8,000 tonnes versus April 2014.

Total shipments of SC-Magazine paper in May decreased 1.7% (5,000 tonnes) compared to May of 2013, and fell by 21,000 tonnes versus April 2014.

Total Shipments of Coated Mechanical Reels were down 4.8% (28,000 tonnes) in May versus May 2013, and decreased by 7,000 tonnes compared to April 2014.

Shipments of Uncoated Mechanical papers in May were down 7.3% (16,000 tonnes) over the same month in 2013, and fell by 10,000 tonnes versus April 2014.
