Scheufelen to Reduce Annual Capacity, Plans to Idle One Paper Machine
Scheufelen will idle one paper machine and equipment related to the machine in the near future.
July 22, 2014 - German paper producer Papierfabrik Scheufelen on July 16 said that the declining consumption of graphic paper is forcing the company to reduce its annual capacity from 300,000 tons to 140,000 tons.
Scheufelen said that it will idle one paper machine and equipment related to the machine in the near future.
Papierfabrik Scheufelen belongs to the Paper Excellence Group which is based in the Netherlands.
In a statement, the company said, "Scheufelen's strategy is to increase the share of premium and high end papers and extend the leading market position of coated premium papers globally.
"In the meantime, all existing supply and other commitments will be honoured, and Papierfabrik Scheufelen and LIG are looking forward to working in close collaboration with all stakeholders with a view to achieving a longterm sustainable business plan for the Company."
