UPM Names Voith as Supplier of New Specialty Paper Machine for Changshu Mill

The new machine will have the capacity to produce 360,000 tonnes per year of labelling materials and uncoated woodfree speciality papers.

April 2, 2014 - UPM announced that Voith Paper will be the supplier of a new specialty paper machine for its UPM Changshu mill in China.

The supply deal covers the main machinery and finishing equipment for the new machine, UPM said.

“The technological know-how and competitive overall solution were decisive points for us to select Voith Paper as supplier," said Timo Heinonen, Project Director from UPM. "We are happy to start this project with them.”

The new machine will have the capacity to produce 360,000 tonnes per year of labelling materials and uncoated woodfree speciality papers.

Start up is slated for the end of 2015.

All grades that will be produced on the new machine "enjoy a healthy demand outlook in Asia," UPM added.
