Global Paper Solutions Achieves PEFC Chain of Custody Certification

Feb. 14, 2014 - Global Paper Solutions (GPS) said that it has achieved PEFC Chain of Custody certification, enabling it to provide customers assurance that materials used for the production of printed folding cartons, litho-labels, in-store signage, direct mail, playing cards and convenience food containers come from known sustainable, legal and traceable sources.

Chain of custody certification is the process by which certified material can be traced from the forest to the end-user. It provides verification that the product, or product line, being sold is derived from timber products and wood fiber that comes from legally managed and certified forests. Chain of Custody documentation seeks to assure that each supply chain stage has been monitored closely and audited according to independent, third-party standards.

"Global Paper Solutions is committed to providing North American customers with sourcing from responsibly-managed forests," said Pankaj Singh, President, GPS.

"We are proud to demonstrate to our customers our support for sustainable forest management with assurances that the material used to make our products can be traced back to forests certified to a credible, international certification standard such as PEFC," Singh added.
