Pricing on Uncoated Freesheet Begins to Move Upwards

Dec. 3, 2013 - RISI has reported that pricing on uncoated freesheet (UFS) paper moved up this month in the USA for the time in over two years, "with movement mostly on low-lying business on rolls for offset and some printing and converting papers," RISI's contacts said.

According to RISI, "Pricing increased $20/ton on 50-lb offset, and $10 for 20-lb forms bond. Various contacts, both buyers and sellers, told of higher pricing on 24-lb white wove envelope (92 brightness), and for 50-lb trade book. With envelope paper, however, contacts said market prices were $900-940 this month and PPI Pulp & Paper Week's unchanged level for this month is $910-950."
