Kemira Completes Expansion of Hydrogen Peroxide Plant in Fray Bentos, Uruguay

July 16, 2013 - Kemira announced that it has successfully completed the expansion of its hydrogen peroxide plant in Fray Bentos, Uruguay.

Hydrogen peroxide is produced in one of the most modern chemical islands built and operated by Kemira since 2007, the company noted.

The expansion of the plant was planned since the beginning of the operation in 2005 and the project was carried out from April 2012 to June 2013.

"We finalized the expansion in the planned schedule and the capacity was increased by 65% which allows us to serve the growing demand of the product in the regional pulp market," said Pedro Cirillo, Director of Kemira Uruguay.

Hilton Casas, President of the Region South America, added, "This investment is well aligned with Kemira’s strategy to grow in pulp chemicals, in South America.”
