U.S. Kraft Paper Shipments Down 3.3% in May

JUne 21, 2013 - The American Forest & Paper Association has released its May 2013 Kraft Paper Report which said total Kraft paper shipments were 128.5 thousand tons, a decrease of 3.3 percent compared to the prior month.

Bleached Kraft paper shipments increased year-over-year 24.5 percent, but the 11.5 percent year-over-year decline in the larger category of Unbleached Kraft paper shipments was enough to bring overall Kraft paper shipments down 7 percent year-over-year. Total month-end inventory increased 6.3 percent to 70.7 thousand tons this month compared to April 2013 month-end inventories.
