Brazil's Jari Celulose Suspends Pulp Production Indefinitely

Jan. 24, 2013 (EUWID) - Brazilian pulp producer Jari Celulose has suspended production. It remains unclear whether or not there is a future for the mill in the Amazon region.

Brazilian pulp producer Jari Celulose, Papel e Embalagens S.A. has suspended production earlier than planned at its plant in Monte Dourado in the state of Para.

A company spokesman from Grupo Orsa, the parent company of Jari Celulose, said that the pulp line with a capacity of 410,000 tpy of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp stopped operations on January 15. Previously, the company had planned to idle it at the end of January.
