Sodra Decides Not to Partner with Angara Paper in Russian Pulp Mill Project

Jan. 17, 2013 - Sodra today said that it has decided not to partner with Angara Paper in the construction of a new pulp mill in Russia.

In December 2010, Sodra and Angara Paper agreed to participate in a feasibility study regarding a greenfield pulp mill project in southern Siberia. Sodra's role in the project was to be an industrial partner and to handle the marketing and sales of pulp from the planned new pulp mill.

"The scope of the project has changed from the original plan," said Gunilla Saltin, Acting CEO and President of Sodra Cell.

"From our perspective, the project no longer fits in with our future strategy and we have therefore chosen not to continue with our involvement," Saltin said.
